Veterans are the reason America is still free
Veterans are the reason was started and founded by Charles Pugh; a Vietnam War Veteran. Born to Alice and Philip Pugh in Alabama and raised in Florida. Charles Pugh, also known as “Haestak” was drafted into the Army at the age of 18 in 1964. After his tour of duty was up in 1967, he received an honorable discharge and was hospitalized for a year. Suffering from liver damage and PTSD, Charles went through many hardships in his life. Being raised in the Christian Faith, Charles managed to find an escape in creating music and spreading his messages of what he had been through via his songs.
One of those songs was “Veterans are the Reason America Is Still Free”. The music to the song was both written and performed by Charles Pugh.
In closing, Veterans are the Reason America is Still Free serves more than just a song; it is more of a testament to the fact that many brave men and women have given their lives in order for us to enjoy the freedoms we enjoy here in America.
